Becoming a Foster

Fostering is a commitment, which can be short-term or long-term, depending upon the kitten.  The Feline Fix will make every effort to get foster kittens adopted as quickly as possible by hosting adoption events. Kittens will be placed up for adoption as soon as they are of age and spayed/neutered. We are looking for foster families willing to foster for us on an ongoing basis.

Is Fostering Right For You?  It is, if:

  • You are a nurturing individual.

  • You are detail oriented.

  • You have time and space to give to our animals.

  • You want to make a difference in the lives of animals.

  • You want to give back.

  • You love kittens.

Your volunteer experience will include:

  • Feeding, socializing, introducing basic training, grooming & medicating Feline Fix kittens in your home (medication and training provided).

  • Transporting animals to The Feline Fix for scheduled vaccinations, medical and social check-ups, spay/neuter surgery, and for adoption events.

  • Observing, recording and reporting any medical and behavioral problems with animals to our Program Manager, Nicole Hammers.

  • You are potentially at risk for being bitten or injured when fostering an animal.  We use every precaution to ensure the animals in foster care are not a danger to anyone, but there is still a risk.

Your benefits:

  • This is a flexible volunteer opportunity that is done in the comfort of your own home!

  • You have the opportunity to practice animal care on a temporary basis!

  • This opportunity is perfect for individuals who simply want to help kittens find forever homes or are unable to commit to a permanent pet.

Your value to The Feline Fix!

  • You save the lives of feral, orphaned, unwanted, and injured kittens.

  • You provide a temporary, loving environment during the critical stages of feral kittens' lives.

  • You assist in finding forever homes for kittens.

  • You are crucial to supporting The Feline Fix and its mission.
