What is TNR?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) was designed as a humane means to stop feral cat colonies from continuing to reproduce. Humanely trapping feral cats, spaying/neutering them, and returning them to their home territories, significantly reduces cat overpopulation. The Feline Fix's TNR program also vaccinates all feral cats against disease before returning them to their colonies.
Numerous studies show that TNR programs are the most reliable and effective method of stabilizing and reducing feral cat populations, with the lowest cost to local governments and residents. Cats that are spayed and neutered enjoy a safer and more comfortable existence free of the mating behaviors that annoy human neighbors and threaten their lives (ie. roaming, fighting, spraying, yowling, and giving birth over and over).
The Feline Fix recruits volunteer TNR Specialists to help reduce feral cat overpopulation. We offer training and provide the tools necessary to support the feral cat community. Individuals can also attend our TNR workshops and will receive a 50 percent discount on our already low-cost spay and neuter services.
